How we land on a score
People ask what a 4.2 means versus a 4.5, so here's the honest version: our scores are a gut feeling backed by a few consistent questions.
We ask whether the controls got in the way, whether the progression felt meaningful, and whether we wanted to come back the next day. A high score means yes to all three.
We don't average category points into a spreadsheet. A game can nail everything and still feel hollow, and no formula catches that. So the number is a summary, not a verdict carved in stone.
Treat the write-up as the real review and the score as a quick sorting hint. The paragraphs are where the actual opinion lives.
